Certified copies in Surrey

When an organization asks for a certified true copy, it wants a copy checked against the original. Westmere Law provides this notarial service through a practising BC lawyer at our Surrey office, with mobile visits available by arrangement.

How we can help

  • Checking copies against original documents
  • Reviewing the recipient's certification instructions
  • Arranging office or suitable mobile appointments

Start with the recipient’s instructions

The organization receiving your document decides which format and certifier it accepts. Tell us what the copy is for, how many copies you need, and whether the recipient has specified wording. A certified copy does not replace a certified translation, a new original issued by an authority, or an apostille.

What to bring

  • The original document to be copied and certified.
  • The recipient’s checklist or written instructions, including any wording it requires.
  • Identification for the appointment; ask which identification is suitable when booking.
  • The number of copies needed and any submission deadline.

Copies for use outside Canada

Check the receiving country’s requirements before booking. Notarization and government authentication are separate steps. If authentication or an apostille is required, the document type and place of issue affect the next steps; certification alone does not guarantee acceptance abroad.

Fees and booking

Ask for a quote based on the document type, number of pages and copies, and any special instructions. Tell us whether you would like an office appointment or a mobile visit. Mobile visits carry an additional travel fee. Please use the initial inquiry form only for a brief description, without document images or confidential details.
